Two sizes cover most apps. iPhone at 1206 by 2622 and iPad at 2064 by 2752. Everything else on this page is an accepted alternative or an optional tier. Apple fills the smaller tiers automatically by scaling your required set down

iPhone
Every iPhone screenshot size
Apple groups iPhones by display class. The one you have to cover is the 6.3 inch tier, which Apple lists as iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display). Every other class is optional, the larger 6.9 inch tier included, and a smaller class you leave empty gets a scaled copy of the nearest larger set

Apple Watch and Mac
Watch, Mac, TV and Vision Pro
Apple Watch takes exactly one screenshot size per app. Pick the size that matches the newest watch you support and keep it consistent across every localization, Apple enforces that. For Mac apps the constraint is the aspect ratio rather than the count

Troubleshooting
Why App Store Connect rejects screenshots
- Wrong dimensions. The upload must match an accepted size exactly, one pixel off fails. Export at the exact size instead of resizing by hand
- Alpha channel present. A PNG with transparency is rejected even at the right size. Flatten before uploading
- Wrong slot. A 1290 by 2796 image belongs in the optional 6.9 inch slot, and the required 6.3 inch slot rejects it. Match each file to its device class
- Mac aspect ratio. Mac screenshots must be 16:10, a 16:9 capture from another display fails

What size should App Store screenshots be in 2026?
For iPhone, 1206 by 2622 pixels, the 6.3 inch tier which also accepts 1179 by 2556. For iPad, 2064 by 2752 pixels, which also accepts 2048 by 2732. Apple scales these down to smaller devices automatically. The larger 6.9 inch iPhone tier, such as 1290 by 2796, is optional
How many screenshots can I upload?
One to 10 per device size, in PNG or JPEG, with no alpha channels or transparency
Do I need separate screenshots for every iPhone model?
No. Apple's own guidance is to provide only the highest resolution screenshots required, and they scale down to smaller device sizes automatically. A 6.3 inch set is all Apple requires for iPhone. Add the other classes, 6.9 inch included, only if you want per tier control
Do iPad screenshots have a required size?
Yes. If your app runs on iPad you must provide 13 inch screenshots at 2064 by 2752 or 2048 by 2732, portrait or landscape. Smaller iPad tiers are optional and scale from the 13 inch set
What sizes do App Store preview videos need?
App previews use different dimensions from screenshots: 886 by 1920 for modern iPhones and 1200 by 1600 for iPads, at up to 30 fps in H.264, 15 to 30 seconds long. The app preview video maker page has the full spec
