Terms of use
Last updated on July 14, 2026
These terms keep things clear between you and the Open Screenshot Generator project. They apply to the website at openscrgen.app, the editor at editor.openscrgen.app, and the desktop app. By using any of them, you agree to what follows. It is short and written to be read
The service
Open Screenshot Generator is a free tool for designing app store graphics and preview videos. It runs in your browser or as a desktop app, and it stores your work on your own device. There is no account to create and no fee to pay. The project's code is available in the GitHub repository. Use of the source code itself is governed by the repository and any license notices it contains
Your content stays yours
Everything you make with Open Screenshot Generator belongs to you. Screenshots you upload, designs you build, and files you export are your content. Because the app runs on your machine and has no backend, we never receive, store, or claim any rights over any of it
Your responsibilities
- Only upload material you have the right to use. That includes screenshots, recordings, images, and fonts
- You are responsible for making sure your exported graphics comply with the policies of the store you submit them to, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store
- Do not use the service to create material that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others
Third party services
Some optional features rely on services run by others, and your use of them is subject to their terms
- The AI agent can send your screenshots and instructions to a provider you choose, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, or drive an account you already hold with a provider such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini. Make sure your use of those accounts follows the provider's own terms of service
- Fonts, libraries, and hosting are delivered by Google Fonts, jsDelivr, Vercel, and GitHub Pages respectively
No warranty
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. A store may still reject a submission, a browser update may change behavior, and bugs happen. Please report them on GitHub and we will do our best
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of Open Screenshot Generator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the service. Since your projects live only in your browser storage, remember that clearing site data deletes them. Treat exported files as your real output and keep your own backups
Changes to the service and these terms
The project evolves, and features may change or be removed. These terms may be updated from time to time, and the date at the top will always tell you when. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms
